Finally decided to grow a pair and take the BMW out to Hallet. And boy it was the right decision. It has taken around 1.5 years to finally get it to the point, sad procrastination, to get the car out. The last stint involved upgrades in brake fluids and pads as Hallet is notorious for destroying brakes. I needed a couple new tires as well.
This was probably the best day to go as well. There were practice, qualifying, and racing sessions going on at the same time for open wheel, GT1/2/3, and legends cars. It was fun to walk around the paddock and see all the tinkering going on. Grassroots racing is my new favorite.
Some notable cars that are ridiculously fast around a track and lapped me several times: Civic SI Type R, Big turbo WRX with active areo, boosted BRZ, Fox body Mustang with an Expedition engine swap, Nissan Maxima (All HP, had great tires and brakes), a Veloster N. Pictures were taken by the talented Tim Turner.

TIL a straight 6 BMW is a “slow car.” ;)
I invite you to try one of these (in non-turbo 1.0 3-cylinder form) to experience a slow ca r:

Haha Touché. I should have refined it as “slowest car in the group”.
The torque of it is amazing. I can get a great exit on turns. But the straights are where I wish I had a little more umph.

I need to go up to Hallet, but there are always schedule conflicts. I did do Motorsports Ranch in Cresson on Saturday and Eagle’s Canyon Raceway on Sunday though.
I love hooning my BRZ around the track, and it is always satisfying to get point-bys from much faster, more expensive, and or higher horsepower cars. My 178whp BRZ on 200tw street tires can get the job done (so many people have been disappointed that I don’t have FI and aren’t running slicks when they come find me in the paddock).
Slow car fast is the best way to drive!

I definitely need to make it to Cresson. Missed the trip this year. I think if I get 200 tw I'll be able to maintain greater speed through the corners. I was able to not get passed as much once I got the shifting areas down.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I constantly have to remind myself that my e90 328 isn’t actually slow. It just doesn’t have an angry little turbo 4 that made my last car feel fast.

I highly recommend Hankook RS4's, I got 21 trackdays out of my last set and they behave well on track.
